China-Europe GNSS Technology Training and Cooperation Center (CENC) is a joint venture of the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), the European Commission (EC) and the European Space Agency (ESA). The center is established at the National Remote Sensing Center of China (NRSCC), a subdivision of MOST. On September 19^th, 2003, the secretary general of MOST, Mr. Dinghuan Shi, and the European Commission’s Director General for Energy and Transport, Mr. Francois Lamoureux attended the inauguration ceremony of CENC. The establishment of CENC is an important part of the cooperation between China and Europe in the area of the Galileo Programme. CENC will serve as the window and the link for cooperation such as personnel training and technical exchange between Chinese and European GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite Systems) industry and academia.
