GATE is a German national project where signal generators will be installed transmitting the Galileo frequency and signal structure. In parallel, a Galileo/GPS receiver is developed. This environment - available early 2006 - enables the user to experience the advantages of the new European satellite navigation system and gives industry possibilities for pre-developments before any Galileo satellite is in orbit. This presentation is describing the GATE system in detail.
