| ABI Research: Global Real-Time Traffic Info Users to Exceed 83 Mln in 2012 |
| |
According to the latest studies of ABI Research, real-time traffic information service users across the world will exceed 83 million by 2012, including paid users and other registered users. ABI Research attributes the inaccuracy of navigable real-time traffic data to three factors. One factor is the complexity of traffic data collection systems, such as ground sensing coils, radars, and cameras, which are of high cost and not easy to install. Floating cars and mobile data sources will be alternative traffic information collection devices. The other two factors are the traffic data integration and the market prospects. ABI Research also think Inrix and Traffic.com subordinate to Navteq will become the two giants in the traffic data collection industry.
