Toyota Motor announced yesterday in Tokyo that the redesigned 'Crown Royal Saloon' and 'Crown Athlete' series would go on sale in Japan from the very day and they also announced the new Crown Hybrid, which will be launched in Japan on May 6, 2008. The Crown Hybrid is fitted with the world’s first navigation system-linked brake assist function, which can use the map data to inform the driver of upcoming stop signs and issue a warning if the driver is late in decelerating. The function can also assist the driver in the event of emergency braking, helping reduce vehicle speed. Since the first publication in 1955, Toyota Crown has developed to the 13th generation, which is priced RMB243,700 to RMB409,900.

Comment: This is another example for maps used beyond navigation in the automobile industry.
