China mobile users have increased by 500 million in eight years, that is, from 2000 to 2007, up from 43.29 million in 1999. The mobile phone market in first and second tier cities is nearly saturated and the increase of mobile phone users will mainly rely on third and fourth tier cities and new rising rural market, says insiders. Comment: The surge of mobile phone user number results from rapid development of mobile phone technologies, product innovation, and more and more reasonable prices. The market segment of GPS-enabled mobile phones becomes more and more popular. In the next two years, GPS will become standard fit for high-end mobile phones.
