750,000 Nav Devices Sold in Australia in a Year
 
Speaking to an Australian media yesterday, Kirk Mitchell, Director Business Development at Navteq Australia said that, according to market research institute GfK, some 750,000 navigation devices were sold in Australia over the past 12 months, representing about eight percent of all vehicles in the country. Australia has also seen this year the launch of its first RDS/TMC traffic information system. Mio was the first brand to offer TMC ready units. It has been followed by TomTom who launched its traffic solution a few days ago, meanwhile Garmin is said to be testing the solution.
