| ARM to Be Committed to CPU Cores for Vehicles |
| |
Last Thursday on “AT International 2008”, Embedded Solutions Director Wayne Lyons of British company ARM announced the company’s strategy about in-car CPU cores. He ARM 表示,在便携式导航仪( Portable Navigation Device , PND )的 CPU 内核市场上,该公司份额已经占到约 80 %。 he predicted the PND market will become more saturated. He also expected the market will be held by a small number of vendors and the future PND market will be polarized to high-function PNDs and low-cost PNDs. High-function PNDs are equipped with traffic jam information function and a Web browser. The company will introduce support products for high-function and low-cost PNDs respectively. In the future, ARM will be committed to the CPU core business, not only for automotive electronic products including in-car navigation systems known as Telematics systems, but also for control systems including Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS).
