NaviForum Declaration

Since the last Spring Festival, We have been receiving enquiries on NaviForum 2007 from all over the world. Recently, the organizing government offices primarily decided to hold the event in Shanghai on Dec. 5 – 7, 2007. Same as the past years, The NaviForum this year will be organized by Department of High & New Technology Development and Industrialization, Ministry of Science & Technology; Department of Map Management, State Bureau of Surveying & Mapping; and Science & Technology Commission, Shanghai Municipal People’s Government as usual,  and the officials from these organizations will attend the forum and discuss with Chinese and foreign guests on the development of the navigation industry. The government also plans to spend 3 years establishing NaviForum into one of the most influential platform for international communication to further boost the internationalization of the navigation industry. Therefore, meetings of the Organizing Committee and of the Expert Committee will be held soon to deploy details and carry out the plan.
We also received many enquiries on rumours about NaviForum’s relation with some other navigation exhibitions/conferences held in China. To avoid confusion, we would like to have you informed:
Chinese Government has strict regulations on qualification conformity and examination procedure of exhibitions/conferences held both by Chinese and foreign organizations, and NaviForum is the only international exhibition and conference Chinese Government officially approved and involved as the official organizer in the navigation industry. NaviForum, the world renown navigation event based in Shanghai, has been held for 3 years since 2004 and has become the largest international navigation event in China. Hundreds of notable companies like Siemens VDO, China Mobile, China Unicom, SAIC, General Motors, Motorola, Nokia, Shinco, Intel, etc, have repeatedly participated in the event for the past years. Up till now, NaviForum has NO partnership with any organizers of navigation exhibitions/conferences taking place in China.
Thanks again for your concern on NaviForum!
